A tribute to

Eric Lloyd McFarlane

10^th November 1953 – 13^th July 2001

The untimely death of Eric McFarlane was a great shock. He was known to almost everybody in the village as a friendly person who always seemed to have a smile on his face.

He supported Village Community activities, as well as being a Scoutmaster and active in the Youth Club at Thetford for many years.

His funeral service was held at Thetford’s Methodist Church, where his cousin – Mrs. Pansy McFarlane-Edmund read Psalm 23. His son Adrian delivered the eulogy and, tributes were made by the Scout Leader, the Youth Club Leader and Church Ministers.

I knew him for over fifteen years, and admired the way that he conducted his life and brought up his children – Adrian and Angelina, with the assistance of his wife Winsome. I sometimes held him up as an example to my own son. Eric was a truly good man.
